Trips

Apart from the benefit of adding a new perspective to a classroom subject, getting children out of the classroom on an outdoor adventure day or residential school trip allows them to experience the wider world, challenge themselves physically and emotionally, learn independence and engage with their peers and teachers.

Our Year 6 children visited Hilltop for a residential trip in May 2025 and both our Year 4 and Year 5 classes visited How Hill for their residential in March 2025. It was also so rewarding to see these groups of children grow so much during their stay. We were all incredibly proud of the respect the children demonstrated, the collaboration shown and the learning they took on board. The instructors were glowing in their praise for how well the children did.

The sun shone and the children flourished! They demonstrated resilience, teamwork, courage and independence in abundance.

The children did a range of activities, including the zip wire, giant swing, assault course, 'catch the flag' game and Jacob's ladder. Children who were apprehensive about the zip wire on the first day were climbing Jacob's ladder by the second day! Brilliant! Flourishing in action!
