(Caretaker, Attendance Assistant and Maternity Cover Cleaner).

CARETAKER VACANCY

We are looking to appoint a hard-working, reliable and conscientious Caretaker to look after our delightful school site and premises.

 

Skills required:

  • Ability to achieve high standards in your work

  • Able to work well under pressure, with an attention to detail

  • A team player with a positive and professional ‘can do’ attitude

  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the school, including working hours

 

Duties:

  • Play a major role in the school’s security measures, including being a keyholder

  • Be on call in the event of emergencies beyond regular working hours

  • Undertake routine building and site maintenance/repair work

  • Oversee contractor visits, including maintaining the school’s logbooks

  • Participate in the daily cleaning of the school

  • Handyperson duties

  • Complete various health and safety checks, including water and fire alarm tests

  • Supervise cleaning staff

  • Commit and contribute to the school’s strong safeguarding culture, including attending regular training

This is a full-time permanent post. 37 hours per week (split shifts), all year round (annual leave entitlement will be a minimum of 23 days excluding bank holidays).

 

Starting salary: £18,933 per annum (Grade 3, point 4 - pay award pending) with opportunity for pay progression.

ATTENDANCE ASSISTANT VACANCY

We are looking to appoint a versatile and conscientious Attendance Assistant.

 

Skills required:

  • Good literacy, numeracy, ICT and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to be proactive and use own initiative
  • Is well organised and able to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
  • Is confident and calm, including when having difficult conversations with families about attendance
  • Enjoys working as a part of a dynamic team, with high standards of personal integrity
  • Be able to establish positive and respectful relationships with pupils and parents/carers

 

Duties:

  • Completion of daily class registers and relevant LA/DfE attendance reporting forms
  • Follow up on pupils’ non-attendance, in accordance with the school’s procedures
  • Produce attendance letters for parents/carers
  • Issue fixed penalty notices as set out in the school’s Attendance Policy
  • Manage absence requests
  • Liaise with the Headteacher and Education Welfare Officer on attendance matters
  • Be responsible for attendance displays and initiatives to promote good attendance
  • Record and report dinner numbers to kitchen staff
  • Follow-up on dinner monies owing
  • General administration duties, including dealing with enquiries in person and on the telephone, photocopying, sending emails etc.
  • Commit and contribute to the school’s strong safeguarding culture, including attending regular training

MATERNITY COVER CLEANER VACANCY

We are looking to appoint a hard-working, enthusiastic and reliable Maternity Cover Cleaner to work alongside our permanent cleaner and Caretaker.

 

Skills required:

  • Ability to clean to a high standard, with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage own workload
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • A sound knowledge of health and safety policies is desirable (although training will be given)
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the school, including working hours

 

Duties:

  • Cleaning classrooms, activity areas, corridors, toilets, offices and other staff areas
  • Safe use of equipment and cleaning chemicals, in accordance with COSHH guidelines
  • Deep cleaning of areas which have been used for isolation by pupils/staff
  • Ensuring dispensers and cleaning consumables are replenished
  • Commit and contribute to the school’s strong safeguarding culture, including attending regular training
